Kate Wallace Nunneley - lead pastor

Kate is the Lead Pastor at Wellspring & Co-Founder of The Junia Project. As a Christian & feminist, Kate enjoys writing & speaking at the intersection of theology & gender. She loves living in Bakersfield with her husband Leif & their 2 dogs. Kate is currently pursuing her Masters of Divinity at Azusa Pacific Seminary & holds a Master of Science from the London School of Economics & a Bachelor of Arts from Azusa Pacific University.


Leif Wallace NunneleyAssociate Executive Pastor

Leif is a Bakersfield native who is intrigued by all things theology.  He loves the local church and is passionate about discipleship.  Leif holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Anderson University and a Master of Science in a College Counseling and Student Development from Azusa Pacific University.

Curtis Nemetz - Worship Director

After becoming a Christian in college (Cal Poly San Luis Obispo) Curtis began playing piano on the worship teams for Campus Crusade for Christ and Calvary Chapel SLO.  It was there that he met his wife, Vali, and received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.  Curtis and Vali moved to Bakersfield where he joined the worship team at Laurelglen Bible Church while pursuing a Master of Science in Counseling from CSUB. Curtis and Vali now have four children.  He loves leading people into praise and worship through music, and particularly loves seeing the passion for music and for Christ grow in his own children.

Melanie MURIllo - Community impact Director

Melanie Murillo is a Bakersfield native who takes pride in her city and its inhabitants.  She has a bachelor’s degree in Youth and Family Life Ministry from Mid-America Christian University and holds a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Point Loma Nazarene University.  She is married to Damon and has a daughter named Makena.  She is passionate about partnering with others in missions - local, global and all the little daily things in between.
